Kairos is looking for a full-time Community/Mobile Crisis Unit Skills Coach to join our collaborative team of dedicated individuals that provide intensive treatment services for youth who are struggling with emotional and behavioral problems related to trauma, loss/grief, and other mental health issues.
The Community/Mobile Crisis Unit Skills Coach will be working with at-risk emotionally and behaviorally challenged youth in various treatment environments including home and community. Will be working with youth and their families teaching new skills to facilitate the development of appropriate behaviors, self-expression and social interaction plus teaching, modeling and coaching life skills. Will work as part of a Care Team in assessing the needs of the youth and in the coordination of services.
Regular work schedule is M-F (8:30AM- 5PM) with additional once/month Mobile Crisis Unit on-call rotation schedule for the following hours: M-F 5-11pm and Sat-Sun 3-11pm. Individual will place priority on intervention and stabilization of youth and families within their communities as part of the Mobile Crisis team. Will provide education and support for youth/families/caregivers and will assist in making appropriate referrals to their professionals and resources in the community based on youth/family needs. Will help develop BSP and follow-up plan in partnership with youth and family. Will record and document observations regarding youth's behavior and individual progress toward identified goals in a timely manner using a variety of computer software. Work shifts include occasional evening and weekends appointments depending on families' schedule needs.
This position is located in NORTH BEND, Oregon which is adjacent to Coos Bay, OR on the Oregon coastline off Hwy. 101.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Baccalaureate degree in Psychology, Sociology or Human Services related field or Associates degree plus one year experience in a related field; preferably Psychiatric residential treatment or group care with adolescents or children or similar setting or High School diploma plus a combination of three years' work experience, education, or training in a related field, preferably in Psychiatric residential treatment or group care with adolescents or children. Provide proof of current, valid Oregon driver's license (or if out-of-state will obtain Oregon license within 30 days), comprehensive automobile insurance (if applicable) and a safe driving record (minimum of 3 yrs.) to use company or personal vehicle for required duties.
QMHA preferred (a combination of either 3 years' related work experience and/or education) and previous work at non-profit, out-patient, community setting and/or with treatment foster care, in-home support services, trauma-informed care, family-driven and youth guided practice preferred.
