Kairos is proud to share that our organization has been selected for a nationally distributed public television feature on All Access with Andy Garcia. The segment begins airing this week, reaching audiences across Oregon and throughout the United States.
This feature shines a spotlight on the critical need for accessible, trauma-informed mental health services for youth and young adults—and highlights the innovative work happening every day at Kairos to meet that need.
A National Platform for a Local Mission
Produced for public television, All Access with Andy Garcia tells stories of organizations making meaningful impact in communities across the country. Kairos was selected for its commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care and for expanding access to services in areas where the need is urgent and growing.
The segment includes perspectives from Kairos leadership, clinicians, and real stories that reflect the life-changing impact of our programs. It offers viewers a deeper understanding of how mental health challenges affect young people—and how early, effective intervention can change the trajectory of a life.
About Kairos
Kairos Northwest is a nonprofit mental health organization serving youth, young adults, and families across Southern Oregon, the Oregon Coast, and the Willamette Valley. Our services include outpatient therapy, residential treatment homes, treatment foster care, and community-based supports designed to meet young people where they are.
At Kairos, we focus on:
- Trauma-informed, evidence-based care
- Family-centered treatment and support
- Building life skills and long-term stability
- Expanding access to care in underserved communities
Our recent expansion into Lane County reflects our commitment to reaching more youth and families who need support, especially in regions where access to care has been limited.
A Growing Crisis in Oregon
The need for youth mental health services has never been more urgent. Nationally, it is estimated that only about 20% of children and adolescents with diagnosable mental health conditions receive the care they need. In Oregon, the situation is even more concerning, with many communities facing provider shortages, long wait times, and limited access to specialized care.
This gap in services is more than a statistic—it represents thousands of young people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and other challenges without the support they deserve. It is, quite simply, a public health crisis—and for many families, a quiet tragedy unfolding every day.
Kairos exists to help change that reality.
Airing Across Oregon and Nationwide
Beginning this week, the Kairos segment will air on PBS stations in Oregon and nationally, with additional visibility through a coordinated media campaign. The feature will continue to air periodically over the next 12 months, ensuring sustained exposure and awareness for the work we do.
This extended broadcast schedule allows Kairos to reach a broad and diverse audience, helping elevate the conversation around youth mental health and connecting families, partners, and supporters to our services.
Why This Matters
At Kairos, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive. By bringing national attention to both the challenges and the solutions, this feature helps:
- Increase awareness of youth mental health needs
- Reduce stigma around seeking care
- Connecting families to available services
- Inspire community support and investment
Join Us in Sharing the Story
